TITLE: Purchasing Associate (Buyer)

REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager

LOCATION: Scottsdale, AZ

TYPE: Full Time

The primary responsibility is to obtain pricing from suppliers (sourcing) for price quotes to our Customers. Also critical to this position is the input of pricing quotes from suppliers into our ERP system for purchasing buys. The Purchasing Associate works in a team and collaborative environment with other purchasing staff, sales staff, suppliers, and leadership to meet customer and company goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Obtain pricing from multiple sources using multi methods of communication; email, phone.

·       Create purchase orders in ERP system, in preparation for entering pricing details (sourcing responses).

·       Research part number pricing history, (ERP system, ILS, other utilized websites) to identify previous suppliers and market pricing.

·       Coordinate with sales staff to identify preferred suppliers for RFQ processing.

·       Establish strong, positive relationships with Suppliers to ensure timely and accurate responses.

·       Clearly understand certification documents to comply with customer needs; MCC, DFAR, etc.

·       Assist in completing large volume quotes in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of ERP system, preferably Distribution One.
• Must be dependable, responsible, detail oriented, and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
• Knowledge of industry suppliers and product capabilities preferred.
• Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
