    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and auditing processes. This role requires excellent analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work well within a team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Financial Record Keeping:
    • Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger accounts.

    • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.

    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.

    1. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

    • Generate and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed.

    1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing relevant financial data.

    • Assist in the preparation of budget variance analyses.

    1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.

    • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.

    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.

    1. Auditing and Compliance:
    • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules.

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.

    • Support the implementation of accounting controls and processes.

    1. Tax Compliance:
    • Help review and submit monthly tax payments to the appropriate states or entities.

    • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all required tax documents.

    • Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and compliance requirements.

    1. Other Duties:
    • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.

    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

    • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably QuickBooks) & Excel.

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Effective communication and organizational skills.

    • CPA certification is a plus.
