PURPOSE
This position is responsible for accounting support activities including General Ledger maintenance and posting, payroll processing, Accounts Payable oversight, month-end closing, reconciling accounts, assist with audits and other duties as assigned by the Controller.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the payroll processing and payment.
- Assist with month-end closing process and general ledger reconciliations (Support month-end and year-end close process).
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Reconcile monthly corporate credit card statement transactions and research to ensure proper coding of all credit card transactions
- Daily bank transaction and cash flow management.
- National & Domestic Wire / ACH management.
- Assist with preparing schedules for the annual financial statement audit.
- Respond to information requests and review financial statements.
- Year-end 1099 preparations.
- Miscellaneous State sales and business tax filing and payment.
- Oversee and approve AP processing and payments.
- Assist in fiscal analysis as determined by the Controller and CFO, including:
- Cost/benefit analysis
- Freight and returned goods analysis
- Preparation of schedules as needed
- Customer profitability
- Fixed asset maintenance and depreciation costs
- Perform other accounting duties and supporting team members as required or assigned.
- Maintain and update accounting procedures as directed by the Controller and CFO.
- Maintain and protect confidential information.
- Adhere to Company Policy and Procedures
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude
- Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Minimum bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance.
- Previous experience working in a wholesale or distribution environment a plus.
- Previous experience with payroll processing required.
- Firm understanding of GL accounting and reconciliation required.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with employees at all levels and interact positively with outside parties
- Proven written and verbal communication skills

- Able to work independently using critical thinking skills
