We are an established local CPA firm and we currently have a career opportunity for an experienced Tax Associate. Our Associates provide tax preparation as well as accounting and tax services. Our focus is on implementing tax strategies that align with our client's business objectives. Our goal is 100% client satisfaction and value. This is not a seasonal position or contract position - we are looking for a long-term team member. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Work with business owners to accomplish their business and accounting needs by delivering quality, timely, and responsive services and work.

It is essential that candidates can effectively communicate with other staff members and coordinate deadlines with the owner. Given the smaller size of the firm, we need an individual who is willing take on multiple responsibilities and types of engagements including, but not limited to:

· Preparation of S Corporation, Individual, Partnership and Trust income tax returns

· Ability to research set of facts and circumstances to determine proper accounting/tax treatment

· Analyze client accounting records and identify/make appropriate adjustments

· Preparation of financial statements

· Preparation of quarterly payroll reports

· Tax projections

· Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans

· Share knowledge and ideas with others

· Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals

COMPETENCIES

· A working knowledge of accounting theory and tax law

· Ability to self-motivate and work independently without the need for micromanagement

· Familiarity with Quickbooks (Desktop & Online), Ultratax/TR Suite software

· Strong background in bookkeeping and tax return preparation

· Microsoft Office proficiency

· Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills

· Ability to multi-task and complete assignments in a timely manner

· Attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture

TO QUALIFY, CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

· Minimum of 5 years of public accounting tax experience

· CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred but those with experience will be considered

· Current/valid PTIN
