Position Summary
The main objective for this position is to ensure a safe computing environment - by executing governance and operational activities that support WNC’s Information Security requirements, policy, strategy and plans.
We are looking for an Information Security Analyst to proactively manage and execute activities that span various information technology and information security domains. The candidate will utilize their knowledge and experience to resolve issues, define or update processes, and develop/improve documentation and procedures with the support and direction of the AVP, Information Security.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Project Support/Business Consultation
Consult on projects to provide expertise and advice
Define (non)functional requirements
Evaluate risk levels of proposed solutions
Risk Management
Complete inbound assessments and internal audit questionnaires
Evaluate and execute outbound assessments
Consult and provide recommendations regarding policy and standard updates
Administer Information Security training and Phishing Awareness exercises
Risk exception process management
Security Operations and Incident Response
Evaluate alarms and events and execute incident response process as needed
Drive security projects from concept through completion either independently or with the support of our managed services provider
Evaluate threat intelligence and execute relevant compensating controls or mitigations
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
Prefer at least five (5) years’ experience in Information Security Operations or IT System Administration
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, including time management and follow-up
Capable of working independently to complete projects in a timely fashion
Must be able to provide off-hours support as needed
Working knowledge of at least 2 enterprise or open source security tools, such as WAF, HIDS/NIDS, NGAV/EDR, forensics, SIEM, SOAR, CASB, web proxy, email gateway.
Technical proficiency with Windows administration and preferably some *nix
Knowledge of common application/infrastructure vulnerabilities and mitigations to protect against exploitation
Hands-on experience with Systems Administration and/or IP Networking preferred
Scripting experience preferred
Experience with pen-testing and/or vulnerability scanning and assessment a plus
