ESSENTIALS JOB DUTIES:

As a General Laborer in either the Melt or Maintenance position, you may be assigned to any of the following functions as needed per production and staffing needs:

 MELT CREW

• Assists with convert raw materials into liquid metal at temperatures exceeding 120 degrees
• Responsible for the quality of the metal including chemical and temperatures control
• Maintains the furnace including daily patches and repairs and relining the refractory
• Preparing the pouring ladles for daily use; pouring metal into ladles
• Uses jackhammer and hammers to remove refractory from ladles
• Responsible for maintaining recording pouring temperatures
• Operation of forklift after obtaining certification, operate forklift to transport waste and product
• Ability to take direction from supervisor

MAINTENANCE HELPER

• Shovels sand from pits using flat edge shovel
• Sweeps and cleans designated areas
• Uses push broom, sweeping dust and debris from assigned areas and discard into waste receptacle
• Removal of waste sand bags from designated areas
• Operation of forklift after obtaining certification, operate forklift to transport waste and product
• Ability to take direction from supervisor; understanding temperatures controls; assisting with the cleaning/maintaining furnaces ladles
