    Position Summary

    Under the direction of experienced engineers, the Software Engineering Co-op will support the development and testing of our next-generation medical device by contributing to projects including the setup of its operating system, implementing cybersecurity features, and developing software for our imaging and connectivity platform.

    Training to be Provided

    Students will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within Bracco Medical Technologies. They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to Bracco Medical Technologies products.

    Additionally, our co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with Bracco Medical Technologies professionals.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Engineering student enrolled in Master’s or Bachelor’s Engineering Program focused on software, computer, or electrical engineering through sophomore and senior year coursework.

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge/experience with Python programming.

    • Knowledge/experience with Batch/PowerShell scripting.

    • Knowledge/experience with source code management systems like Git.

    • Knowledge/experience with Windows 10 and Linux Operating system and configurations.

    • Knowledge/experience with encryption techniques and cryptography.

    • Knowledge/experience with virtualization.

    • Good understanding of Cybersecurity and best practices.

    • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, and Software Test Life Cycle.

    • Good understanding of development methodologies.

    • Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.

    • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools is a plus.

    • Knowledge of Qt is a plus.

    • Knowledge of C++ is a plus.


    Job Location

    • Pleasanton, CA (mostly remote but occasionally in-person at the Pleasanton office)

    Term/Hours

    • Spring/Summer of 2024 start, 2-3 semester rotation, can be consecutive or non-consecutive semesters. Jan/May start dates are preferred, but other start dates will be considered.
    • Hours: 40 hours per week

    High School diploma /GED required. Associates degree preferred. 2 years formal vocational training in HVAC and 3-5 years field experience required. Must be able to perform physically challenging duties associated with field. Must possess EPA refrigeration certification. Must be able to perform physically challenging duties associated with field. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required. Good communication skills and the ability to lead, supervise and work collaboratively with others. Good judgment and discretion in fulfilling duties. Must have excellent follow-through. Regular attendance is required. Valid Florida Driver’s License required. Subject to on-call status as needed or on-call status/recall in the event of emergencies or natural disasters affecting the College of Law. Flexible to work outside business hours. Oversees HVAC for both Gulfport and Tampa campuses. Works to build an environment that promotes and facilitates the success of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence. Computer skills to understand, diagnose and interpret data using Tracer Summit Controls. MS Office and MS Outlook experience.
