  • Responsibilities

    WR is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to research, develop, write, revise, and edit content for printed and electronic manuals, technical and administrative documentation, and supporting materials.

     

     

    Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Assists with interviewing programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to acquire knowledge of product technology and development methods.
    • Works with higher level technical writers to research and gather technical information for use in documentation activities.
    • Prepares written documents following standard guidelines for technical publications.
    • Coordinates with customer on layout and format of requested documentation.
    • Creates tables, flow charts, and diagrams for inclusion in documentation.

     

     

    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:  

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, or similar field.
    • Three (3)+ years of technical writing experience.
    • Must be proficient in word processing software, including MS Word and Adobe
    • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
    • Work requires knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language. Some analytical command is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
    • Experience using ArborText Editor.

     

    Preferred Skills:

     

    • Experience developing technical manuals in S1000D, including creating Data Module Requirements Lists (DMRL), Assigning data module code and illustration control numbering sequences, and tagging content in Extensible Markup Language (XML)

     

     

    ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN AND ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
