    To be paid out in installments ($1,500 after 480 hours worked, additional $1,500 after 960 hours worked)

    _ THIS POSITION REPORTS TO THE DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS A PASSION FOR PROVIDING QUALITY CARE TO THE SENIOR COMMUNITY _

    Responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of the Resident Care: Independent and Assisted Living, the Gardens and the Level IV Rest Home, in accordance with the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and DPH.  Assures that services for all Residents are delivered according to NEDA policies and procedures. Manages the prescreening process for residents and assists with the coordination of their medical care and services. Interviews/hires/trains personnel for the Wellness Department.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current Massachusetts license

    Must have graduated from an accredited nursing school.  _Minimum of three years of nursing experience (_Assisted Living or Long-Term Care preferred)

    Knowledge of EOEA Regulations for Assisted Living (A/L) and DPH Regulations for Level 4 Rest Home

    Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all personnel; possesses qualities of integrity, compassion, empathy and is able to communicate effectively with residents and their families

    Ability to work independently; ability to make appropriate decisions quickly during times of emergency.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepares and serve food to 6-18 year old club members as part of Kids Caf- program.
    • Ensure compliance with the Department of Education, Greater Boston Food Bank, and Board of Health regulations.
    • Maintain and report on number of members served daily and the numbers of meals distributed.
    • Report all incidents immediately to the supervisor.
    • Assist in the coordination with The Greater Boston Food Bank for technical assistance and nutrition education programming.
    • Assists in the supervision of members participating in programs and services within the kitchen.
    • Secure and maintain materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the kitchen area.
    • Maintains a safe and clean kitchen/cafeteria area.
    • Participate in meetings regarding Kids Cafe as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
