  • Responsibilities

    The Designer is responsible for the conceptual design and creative execution of apparel that meets the needs of the customer while maintaining brand integrity. The Designer will work in accordance with the category plan, development calendar and the brand’s product strategy to design and development of all-over prints, while managing and executing Boys’ graphics in partnership with the Graphic Collective. The designer will ensure cohesiveness between graphics and the apparel designs. The candidate must be flexible and have the ability to forge strong partnerships within the team and with other interdependent departments.

     

    Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    •Create on-brand, trend-right textile print designs .

    •Place print artwork into industry standard repeat layouts utilizing Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

    •Review, manage, and set-up graphic designs

    •Support the Design Director and collaborate with the Designer-Adidas Boy to research seasonal print and color trends and translate into print and graphics.

    •Provide brand guidance to our outside graphic firm, The Graphic Collective.

    •Partner with the Graphic Collective to ensure brand and consumer right graphic product mix.

    •Prepare inspiration boards and concept boards for design and merchandising meetings.

    •Execute engineered graphics and placements in garment sketches or patterns for development.

    •Prepare and organize print development packages and graphic tee design packages with detailed technical specs in regard to color, execution, and size for production.

    •Maintain print libraries and organize graphics by season and concept.

    •Organize and review incoming print and graphic strike-offs in partnership with the design team.

    •Ensure efficient process and communication flow between design and production in regard to graphics.

    •Partner with design team to ensure that graphics/designs do not infringe on intellectual property rights and register new rights where necessary.

    •Meet deadlines in accordance with the design and sourcing calendar.

     

     

    Skills:

    •Strong knowledge of fabric and apparel printing methods.

    •Strong knowledge and understanding of apparel construction.

    •Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced work environment.

    •Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous to detail.

    •Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for graphics and fonts; strong ability to sketch.

    •Extensive knowledge of traditional and web-based graphic production techniques, including color separations, camera-ready art, heat transfers, etc.

    •Expert/Advanced Proficiency in Adobe products and Mac computers (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign); highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
