    Shuttlewagon – a Wabtec Company, a customer focused business utilizing continuous improvement and creative thinking to foster a culture of exceeding customers’ expectations is looking for a Shop Service Technician.

    The Shuttlewagon Shop Service Technician performs maintenance and repairs to Shuttlewagon, competitor, and customer machines as well as total rebuilds of legacy Rail Car Movers integrating technology of today. Work will be performed in a shop environment at our Kansas City, MO production facility. Body of work can be anything from an oil change to a complete powertrain replacement.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform Heavy work by using overhead cranes and forklifts
    • Collaborate with technicians in our service department to complete projects
    • Provide quality Workmanship for both ourselves and our customers
    • Ability to learn and grow within the company with the help of our veteran technicians
    • Challenge the status quo and look for internal opportunities to improve the way we do things – always looking to continuously improve

    Other

    • Perform other duties as assigned and assist in supporting supply management personnel to achieve department and company objectives
    • Adhere to company standards of ethics and trust
    • Complete special assignments for the department as directed

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Education and Experience

    • High School Graduate (or equivalent) required
    • Mechanical experience is required
    • Technical school experience is preferred

    Technical Skills

    • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems / ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics
    • Working knowledge of diesel engines, heavy duty axles (planetary), air compressors, pumps
