WKBKY is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their collaborative and growing team. The Accounting Assistant will work directly with the Law Firm Administrator and the Accounting & Systems Manager by performing various accounting and billing related functions described below. Additionally, the Accounting Assistant will work collaboratively with the team and the Administrative Partner on strategic planning regarding office growth, staffing, management reporting considerations and technical needs.
ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONS
The Accounting Department performs all functions related to accounting and billing, including but not limited to:
• Billing and accounts receivable, including preparing, editing and issuing client invoices and statements;
• Preparing, recording and reconciling firm and case-related expenses;
• Trust account management;
• Managing the process for collecting timely payment on invoices;
• Payroll, 401K Plan and other payroll related functions;
• Reconciling all bank accounts, including operating and trust accounts;
• Analyzing financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, monitor progress and changes and keep Partners informed;
• Preparation of financial and management reports for firm leadership;
• Preparation of annual operating budget and projections;
• Implementation, management and oversight, in coordination with the IT Director, of all accounting and billing systems software; and
• Assist in completion of annual tax returns and preparation of Form 1099s.

The Accounting Assistant should have experience with many of the above functions, but experience in all functions is not required. An excellent candidate for the position will possess:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The right candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar (or in pursuant of the same);
• Minimum of 2 or more years accounting experience.
• Experience with a time based accounting software. (TABS3 or equivalent accounting software experience, desired but not required); and
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.
