As an Attorney at Wagner Oehler, Ltd., you will advise clients on effective strategies for farm and business succession, estate tax protection, and efficient estate administration. You will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. You will prepare succession planning reports, buy-sell agreements, and entity selection and formation. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. The applicant we are looking for must have extensive knowledge of estate planning, business or farm law, and real estate. Responsibilities: • Counsel associates to resolve or prevent conflicts • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions • Develop long-lasting relationships with clients • Significant previous experience in at least 2 of our practice areas • Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for your clients • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Take responsibility for administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients, and completing tasks Qualifications: • Four-year bachelor’s degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision • 5 years of required experience as a senior associate in the legal field • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills • Admitted to and in good standing with Minnesota State Bar Association. • License to practice law in Minnesota. • Working knowledge of real estate law, wills, trusts, property management, and farm and/or business law. Compensation: $95,000 - $125,000+ yearly
