    General Summary

    Waitr & Bite Squad partner with local independent drivers, managed by the Delivery Logistics team. This includes various administrative tasks to confirm viability of driver partner, process biweekly payments and organize end of year taxes. The role of driver experience specialist ensures that all partnered drivers have approved background checks, properly completed onboarding documentation, access to an occupational accident insurance policy, receive timely communication for all items related to their contract and that all departments within Bite Squad and Waitr are properly trained with regard to IC compliance.

    Essential Functions

    • Process background check & motor vehicle reviews for all prospective and onboarded drivers. Partner with the background check company to ensure scoring adjudication matrixes are current and fully streamlined.
    • Ensure the compliance of the offboarding of terminated drivers, ensuring all accounts are properly deactivated and that proper communications are sent and recorded.
    • Manage the Occupational Accident insurance policy, ensuring Customer Service is properly trained to interact with injured drivers and that all injuries are properly submitted and tracked.
    • Manage the driver support inbox, ensuring all issues are responded to accurately and quickly and with a high understanding of the Independent Contract experience and the associated compliance requirements & risks.
    • Partner with various Bite Squad and Waitr departments such as Driver Support & Dispatch to ensure they are properly trained with regard to IC compliance. Devise training materials to allow these agents to provide support while maintaining compliance.
    • Partner with legal to build a database of answers to higher level IC driver questions & complaints to ensure questions are answered quickly but with legally approved answers.
    • Partner with Ops to device system to provide written warnings to IC to be used to curb behaviors before escalating to contract terminations.

    Required Education and Experience 

    • Bachelor's degree (BBA) or equivalent from four college or technical school or four or more years 
    • of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • 2 years of experience managing Independent Contractors.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • High level of knowledge and experience interacting with and managing fleets of independent contractors.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are approximately  Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
