    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm (flexible); occasional evenings/weekends.

    The requirements for this position are:

    At least three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant experience (for example, communications, engagement, outreach, marketing)

    Commitment to social justice and health equity; ability to work with diverse communities.

    Established practical and strategic command over social media and digital communications tools.

    Demonstrated ability to produce compelling, accurate content quickly, both in writing and visually. A strong creative vision and style.

    Ability and high degree of willingness to collaborate with others.

    Skill in gathering and synthesizing information from many sources. High level of skill translating technical language and ideas into "plain language".

    Basic experience with and enthusiasm for desktop publishing for in‐house graphics design and production.

    High attention to detail.

    Solid photography skills.

    Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

    Strict integrity and sound judgment in the handling of confidential information.

    Physical requirements: Ability to read fine print, and communicate in person, in writing, by telephone and electronically with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Ability to pass a pre-employment background check specific to the position.

    Exceptional project management skills including the ability to think independently and critically, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

    What You’ll Do: Our creative team is highly collaborative, as is the nature of the best communications work! At the same time, each team member focuses closely on specific areas of activity. As Communications Officer, you will:

    External Audiences

    Act as "master wrangler" of key communications platforms. You'll create content, undertake care and feeding, and evaluate effectiveness of our website, social media (Facebook, YouTube) and other digital tools.

    Deploy your storytelling skills to educate and inspire target audiences, through a wide variety of media (digital, print, photography, video, collateral, etc.).

    Serve as the main point of contact for creating and maintaining collateral materials, Wallace "swag" and other marketing products.

    Organize and maintain communications-related plans, calendars, reports, files and archives.

    Collaborate with team colleagues to plan and produce outstanding donor cultivation and “friend-raising” communications and events.

    Act as point person or support for organization’s participation in patient-focused/community outreach/business and civic events.

    Internal Audiences

    Develop and produce a variety of print, digital and other collateral for patient outreach, orientation and education, based on organization-wide priorities. Create and maintain a toolkit of basic templates (flyers, etc.) for staff use.

    Collaborate with clinical teams to create and maintain a library of high-quality on-line patient resources.

    Support coordination/logistics of high priority patient engagement/outreach events.

    Lead/participate in planning and implementation of staff engagement communications and activities.

    Work environment: You have the opportunity for a flexible work environment, potentially comprising a combination of remote work and at our office in Downtown Rockwood.
