    Job Description

    TERRITORY MANAGER POSITION

     

    A Territory Manager for this position is responsible for the hardware and lumber sales in a designated territory. Their everyday responsibilities entail selling and introducing products and services to existing and newly established hardware stores, home centers and lumber yards. This company specializes in all aspects of the hard lines industry, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, hardware, hand and power tools, power tools accessories, fasteners, paint & paint sundries, heating & cooling, lawn & garden, and farm & agriculture. Wholesale or retail sales experience in these categories is highly preferred. Training and education for this position would be provided. The territory we are looking to fill includes the area between West Nashville and the Tennessee River, north and south of Interstate 40 in Tennessee. This is a commission sales position with the possibility of a six-figure salary for the highly dedicated and successful territory manager.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Developing a lead generation plan to meet or exceed monthly and annual target goals.

    · Participate fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building, webinars and professional development classes.

    · Identify decision makers among the targeted leads in order to start the sales process.

    · Work with regional sales manager and vice president of sales to determine essential strategic approaches for sales.

    · Maintain and expand a database of customers and prospective customers.

    · Support the dealer communication channel throughout the sales interval.

    · Attend sales group meetings.

    · Provide effective product demonstrations for hardware dealers as well as end-user customers.

    · Emphasize service, product features and benefits, and discuss credit terms and prices.

     

    SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

    · Sales experience in a B to B is preferred.

    · Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment.

    · Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

    · Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

    · Excellent sales personality skills.

    · Prominent organization and presentation skills.

    · Excellent time management skills.

    · Highly energetic and self-starter.

    · Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.

    · Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
