SUMMARY

We are seeking a scheduling professional to provide a key role in the organization to implement and maintain a schedule management system within a multi-trade Commercial Mechanical Contractor. Extreme attention to detail, clear communication, organization, and prioritization skills will be needed to excel in this role. Must have construction project scheduling experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review client project schedules for feasibility of company scope within project milestones for projects in bid. Identify and report areas of concerns to Estimating team
- Maintain manpower projections for current projects as well as projects in the bid process
- Determine and report to management work level needs across company departments
- Interact with customers and project managers to design and develop project schedules for awarded projects
- Interact with project team to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan
- Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas
- Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around
- Suggest management of risks affecting project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations
- Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems
- Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
- Coordinate with CAD departments and Fabrication Shops to maintain schedule based on field needs
- Forecast raw material requirements based on schedule and project needs
- Maintain short interval schedules working with project managers, superintendents, and field foremen
- Attend weekly project management meetings and maintain meeting minutes
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook a must
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project required
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC industry a plus, willing to train the right individual
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mathematical skills required
- Ability to effectively problem solve and work independently or within a group is essential
- Ability to edit and proof documents with accuracy required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Approximately 75% of the job requires sitting at a computer while the other 25% will involve collaboration with members of internal staff or external clients.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in the main office location as well as occasional travel to and from local client sites.
BUSINESS/OFFICE HOURS
Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Position may require early mornings or late evenings based on project deadlines.
Our Holiday schedule typically mimics the holiday schedule of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 17 – Boston area union which usually results in 10 holiday days off.
