Warbird Consulting Partners actively seeks experienced candidates for the role of Accounting Manager for a health system in Eastern New York (Albany-metro area). This position is customer focused and ensures that all operations function to meet the needs of internal and external customers while adhering to all appropriate controls and applicable policies. Responsibilities include:

Establishing and monitoring proper accounting practices, including:

• Month-end closing activities
• Financial Statement Preparation and Reporting
• Communicating financial results and analysis with management monthly
• Tax reporting compliance
• Researching and Advising department management on Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards

  Other accounting and reporting activities as directed by the System Controller or CFO

  Ensuring that at month’s end all asset and liability general ledger balances are appropriately stated and in accordance with GAAP

  Responsible for other duties as assigned.

  REQUIREMENTS

  Bachelors degree with a concentration (major) in Accounting and courses in computer applications

  A minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience in financial management in a healthcare environment required.

  A high level of analytical ability required in order to plan, direct and control financial activities of the Hospital.

  Good interpersonal skills required to interact effectively in delicate, sensitive and complex situations.

  A strong background in computer spreadsheet applications is required
