    As a warehouse associate you will be responsible for all Shipping/Receiving objectives, and be responsible for the entire shipping/receiving process in a high volume, fast paced environment. The list of duties includes but not limited to:

    Must prepare all shipping documents, which includes bills of lading and manifests (which need to fall under company policies and procedures).

    Determines what would be the best, shortest and most cost-effective route of shipment according to the expenses, estimated delivery time and destination both domestically and internationally.

    The Shipper has to coordinate and correspond with couriers, and discuss all logistical operations, including shipment set-ups, delivery instructions and estimated delivery expectations.

    Needs to maintain proper levels of stock. This includes courier-specific shipping materials, postage, packing tape, envelopes and other supplies like shrink wrap.

    Ensure all skids are tightly shrink wrapped for storage and shipping purposes.

    Uses Pallet Jacks to carefully move skids throughout warehouse and onto transport trucks.

    Connect with retailers to arrange and advise of delivery. This would include size of shipment (number of boxes or pallets) and approximate delivery date.

    Address and label packages, look up and compute freight or postal rates, and record the weight and cost of each shipment both on shipping labels as well as in corresponding computer system(s) and programs.

    Receiving and handling of materials and match them against bill of lading.

    Report any shortages/overages/damages, so that adjustments or claims can be prepared accurately and promptly.

    Pre-planning receipts of orders to ensure that dock and warehouse space is available to accommodate receipts.

    Prerequisites

    · 1-2 years of experience working as a Shipper in a fast paced Warehouse environment.

    · Previous experience working with multiple Transport companies in a shipping capacity would be a huge asset.

    · Lifting, bending, climbing ladder and occasional heavy lifting experience will be an asset.

    · Experience with lifting up to 50lbs is required.

    · Experience with operating forklift and machines is required.

    · Knowledge of health and safety in warehouse setting is required.

    · Should have the ability to work well with others, be a good communicator, and have a basic understanding of MS Office and general mathematics.

    · Must have the ability to solve problems, the ability to begin, manage and finish multiple projects simultaneously and be extremely organized.

    Must have the proven ability to manage and organize a heavy flow of information, the ability to work under pressure and have a good use of memory.
