    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

    This position reports directly to the warehouse supervisor.

    PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

    Under general supervision, operators can accurately read sales orders, confirm products, assist customers, operate PIT, and unload/load inbound and outbound trucks.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform all duties in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP” s).
    • Complete assigned daily work schedule by meeting safety, quality and stated output objectives.
    • Wear always designated and required PPE.
    • Ensure a safe working environment by reporting unsafe conditions immediately. Ensure that prior to performing assigned tasks, has been trained on safety and feed safety aspects of the assignment. Has knowledge of and observe all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) regulations.
    • Report any required equipment maintenance to supervisor and safely assist in repair as requested.
    • Document all pre-shift PIT inspections according to company policy
    • Complete daily assigned housekeeping duties per standard format and document that activities have been completed on daily and weekly check sheets. Respond to any issues identified by supervisor.
    • Communicate shortages of finished product promptly to warehouse supervisor. Maintain raw material and ingredient inventory at appropriate stock levels in area of responsibility as required.
    • Maintain annual safety training completion to 100% on a month-to-month basis.
    • Willingness to work overtime (50% of shift scheduled) as business requires.
    • Participate in physical inventory when required.
    • Perform other work-related duties as required ensuring that training on assigned areas has been completed prior to beginning work. Communicate to supervisor if training has not been completed prior to assignment.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Adhere to and succeed within the Furst-McNess Company culture.
    • Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
    • Read, write, and speak English and/or Spanish; perform basic math.
    Be reliable, follow shift schedules, and notify supervisor of absences at least 30 minutes in advance.
    • Perform housekeeping duties and maintain documentation.
    • Inspect products for quality and compliance with specifications.
    • Follow company policies and comply with FDA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with coworkers and supervisors.
    • Contribute as a team player; assist beyond assigned duties when needed.
    • Be flexible, open to change, respectful of others, and receptive to feedback.
    • Recommend process improvements to enhance customer service.
    • Correctly identify product codes, descriptions, customer names, sales orders, and tags.
    • Track lot dates, expiration dates, and best-buy guidelines for ingredients and products.
    • Gather, load, and document products for customer pickup; assemble and label mixed pallets.
    • Apply FIFO practices and rotate stock daily.
    • Safely operate PIT equipment per company policies.
    • Confirm bag counts and accurately wrap pallets to company standards.
    • Verify inbound products against BOL, identify discrepancies, and report to supervisor.
    • Complete inbound travel tags accurately (product number, name, lot, quantity, weight, date).
    • Report all shipment overages or shortages immediately to supervisor.
