    Position Overview

    A large multinational third-party logistics (3PL) company launching a new operation near Charlotte Douglas International Airport is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Warehouse Lead to help establish and oversee daily warehouse operations. This position will provide hands-on leadership to warehouse associates while supporting safe, efficient, and accurate receiving, inventory, picking, packing, staging, and shipping activities.

    The ideal candidate has previous warehouse leadership experience in a fast-paced distribution, logistics, freight forwarding, or 3PL environment and is comfortable working on the floor while directing a team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and coordinate 2nd shift warehouse activities to ensure daily operational goals are achieved.
    • Supervise and provide direction to warehouse associates, including assigning work and monitoring productivity.
    • Support receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping operations.
    • Monitor workflow and make adjustments to maximize productivity and minimize delays.
    • Ensure inventory is handled accurately and warehouse locations remain organized.
    • Use WMS systems, RF scanners, and other warehouse technology to track inventory and transactions.
    • Assist with cycle counts, inventory checks, and research of discrepancies.
    • Verify orders, shipments, and documentation for accuracy.
    • Train and coach new and existing warehouse employees on processes, safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
    • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
    • Communicate shift activity, staffing issues, inventory discrepancies, and operational concerns to management.
    • Assist with resolving shipping, receiving, inventory, and workflow issues.
    • Help establish standard operating procedures and best practices as the new operation ramps up.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve productivity, quality, and customer service.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or 3PL experience.
    • Previous experience as a Warehouse Lead, Team Lead, Supervisor, or similar leadership role preferred.
    • Experience working in a high-volume warehouse environment.
    • Strong understanding of receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping processes.
    • Experience with WMS and RF scanning systems.
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
    • Forklift experience/certification is preferred.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work on the warehouse floor for extended periods.
