Warehouse Manager Duties and Responsibilities
The warehouse manager has many duties and responsibilities, one of the main ones being supporting the production team. As a result, the warehouse manager needs to be ready to work at 7:00 a.m. to open the warehouse. Other responsibilities include:
Inventory Management
Overseeing the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse, managing inventory levels, and implementing inventory control systems. This includes ensuring accurate inventory tracking and optimizing the warehouse layout. Inaccurate inventory can lead to problems like improper stock levels, obsolete inventory, and inefficient processes.
Shipping and Receiving
Managing the shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Safety
Ensuring the security of employees and inventory and creating a business culture where employees are actively engaged in safety practices.
Workflow
Maintaining a smooth workflow by maximizing warehouse space utilization to provide enough space for staff to efficiently execute processes.
