    Hourly/Salary: Hourly

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay Rate: $24.40

    Shift: Sunday - Thursday: 6 AM start time __ and work until the job is done.

    Subject to change by management

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Prepare the workstation – ensure that rubber floor mats are in place; maintain a safe and sanitary work area
    • Ensure that the equipment to be used is in good working order. Report any maintenance work needed to the supervisor and/or maintenance prior to using the equipment.
    • Operate packaging machines and labeling machines
    • Ensure that sufficient supplies are on hand and readily available; tape, labels and boxes.
    • Inform manager and/or lead person of any product(s) that has not been cut or trimmed to specifications
    • Package customer’s orders in proper container/pouch as per specifications and in order of delivery
    • Check cry-o-vac packages for leakage and re-package if necessary
    • Mark all packages correctly utilizing labels
    • Adhere to all USDA and company regulations regarding sanitation; follow proper food handling procedures, (smocks, hairnets, beard guards, changing aprons, etc.)
    • Maintain quality assurance policies and follow and/or participate with HACCP procedures
    • Adhere to SQF policies and follow and/or participate with SQF Program
    • Maintain a safe and sanitary work area by mopping up spills and pickup meat/fat pieces off the floor
    • Adhere to all company safety policies, report any safety violation or problem. Report all injuries to your manager/lead person immediately.
    • Perform housekeeping duties as assigned (cleaning offices, bathrooms, etc.).
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
    • Maintain satisfactory attendance
    • Any other duty assigned by management personnel
    • Clean and maintain equipment to company standards
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to visually inspect products, equipment and processes. Requires visual acuity including depth perception and field of vision
    • Able to read customer order tickets, digital scales and labels
    • Able to operate packaging and labeling equipment
    • Able to follow instructions and understanding customer and company specifications
    • Strong verbal communication skills
    • Quality and safety conscious

    Working Conditions/Physical Activity

    All warehouse teams will typically work in various temperatures, but regularly in refrigerated or occasionally frozen areas This can be a physically demanding position, requiring frequent periods of stationary standing/sitting climbing, bending, crouching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. There is frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

    Reporting Relationships

    This position functions under the direct supervision of the Production Manager with assistance from the lead meat cutter and quality assurance manager
