Position summary:
Plans, organizes, and monitors the shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from
suppliers or production ensuring a smooth and consistent operation. Plans and coordinate the activities of material
handlers. Assists in the warehouse as needed, displays a high sense of urgency to and from customer service to
sales, and maintains daily interaction with plant operations, scheduling and quality assurance. Maintains operations to
adhere to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:
• Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and
response to fluctuating workloads.
• Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
• Assist picking, packing and distribution activities.
• Resolve personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level
supervisors for resolution.
• Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development; identify competencies;
prepare and deliver Performance Appraisals.
• Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. Inform designated employees or
departments of items loaded and problems encountered.
• Oversee stock control and processing orders.
• Ensure annual budget requirements for the Warehouse and S/R Department are met. Anticipate and request funding
for future personnel requirements. Anticipate and request funding for future material handling equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining current automated and computerized systems.
• Follow all safety regulations and comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, shipping and receiving
requirements.
• Keeping stock control systems up to date and plan future capacity requirements.
• Responsible for inventory control – works with the Accounting Department to conduct physical counts.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
Skills:
• Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations; shipping international shipments of hazardous material; via
air, ocean and over the road.
• Must be computer literate with data management and system operation with the ability to evaluate and understand
data for the purpose of implementing systems to maintain or implement control.
• Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most
appropriate one.
• Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being
made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Knowledge of Bar Code Technology and Electronic Data Interchange a plus.
• Mathematical aptitude. Familiar with "unit" conversions and basic concepts of in statistics.
• Strong organization and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Management of Personnel Resources - Assessing performance, Motivating, developing, and directing people as
they work, identifying the best people for the job.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pass Cvista's Forklift Training Program.
