Position Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor / Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, and leading warehouse personnel to achieve productivity, safety, and quality objectives. This role serves as a key operational leader, coordinating workflow, delegating tasks, and ensuring all processes are completed efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Review daily work assignments and distribute tasks to warehouse associates and temporary staff to meet operational goals.
- Provide direct supervision and oversight of warehouse workflows to maintain efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure all receiving and shipping activities are completed accurately and consistently.
- Verify that required shipment documentation, records, and supporting materials are completed and maintained.
- Ensure all outbound loads are properly secured and prepared for transport.
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments, including inspection, documentation, and shipment security procedures.
- Ensure weights, counts, and inventory records are accurately documented and submitted as required.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company procedures, safety regulations, and operational standards.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Support employee onboarding and training efforts in coordination with management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate operational issues to management.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support warehouse operations and business objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise warehouse associates and temporary staff.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and daily support to team members.
- Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
- Assist with employee performance management and accountability.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and team-building abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain operational oversight across staffing, inventory, shipping, receiving, and warehouse processes.
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
- Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems and basic computer applications preferred.
