Do you like the idea of helping to bring safety and peace of mind to low-income, elderly and disabled members of our community? Do you possess basic knowledge of home repair tools and like to keep spaces organized? We may have the job for you!
We believe healthy communities start with safe and livable homes. Rebuilding Together Peninsula is committed to creating healthy, safe living spaces—especially for traditionally underserved communities. Our mission is to repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives by providing no-cost home repairs in San Mateo County and Northern Santa Clara County.
We are seeking someone to apply their skills to support our team by coordinating and maintaining our warehouse and providing logistical support for our repair programs. For over 35 years, we’ve helped preserve affordable home ownership and maintain the diverse fabric of the Peninsula by providing critical health and safety-related repairs. With skilled in-house repair technicians and by harnessing the power of hundreds of volunteers, we help approximately 100 homeowners and nonprofits annually. Rebuilding Together Peninsula, one of the largest of over 100 affiliates of Rebuilding Together Inc., a national nonprofit, has an operating budget of $3.5M.
Primary Responsibilities The Warehouse and Project Inventory Coordinator’s main responsibilities are to maintain our tools and equipment inventory, keep the warehouse safe and orderly, ensure equipment is in working order, including vehicles, order project supplies and deliver and return materials and equipment to and from volunteer project sites. In addition, if you possess repair skills, or are open to learning, this person ideally will assist our repair technicians on an as-needed basis with repairs. Lastly, this person supports occasional volunteer “warehouse days”. Based in Redwood City, this is a full-time, non-exempt position, 32-40 hours a week. Schedule and hours vary, depending, especially during heavy project seasons in fall and spring.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following: ● Basic familiarity with home repair equipment and tools ● Strong organizational skills, including paperwork (tracking receipts, hours etc.) ● Strong communication skills ● Ability to work independently and take initiative ● Ability to manage time effectively ● High degree of flexibility ● Maintain a Salesforce inventory tracking system ● Strong teamplayer ● Strong customer service mindset ● Ability to communicate clearly and with patience with members of marginalized and vulnerable populations ● Reliable transportation, valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance ● Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds without assistance ● Pass a background check and fingerprinting ● Fluent in English (read, write, and speak)
Preferred: ● Working knowledge of Salesforce ● Proven success working in a team environment ● RRP and/or OSHA training ● Computer proficiency – Google applications (Calendar, Gmail, etc.), as well as comfort with smartphones and online/smartphone apps. ● Knowledge of Peninsula ● Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese
