Systems Architect 1 - Software Developer - CSI Reporting Team

Location: Johnson Space Flight Center (REMOTE)

Headquartered in in Ridgecrest, California, they provided products and services to the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and private industry.

Program Description:

This program provides Information Technology Support Services II (ITSS II) at the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities include design, development, testing, debugging, enhancement, and maintenance of software applications and systems meeting complex customer requirements.
• The individual will have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, maintain operational stability and availability, recommend and implement improvements that enhance functionality, user experience, and overarching system security.
• Additionally, the individual will possess exceptional oral and written communications skills necessary to work in a fast-paced operational environment and to communicate with audiences of varying technical expertise.

Specific position requirements include:

• Minimum five years proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role.
• Experience working with software lifecycle development methodologies such as Agile
• Experience with programming languages such as C#, C++, and Java.
• Experience writing scripts utilizing Python, Perl, JavaScript, and Shell Script (BASH or equivalent).
• Experience developing SQL queries.
• Knowledge of programming frameworks such as Git.
• Experience using Object Oriented Analysis & Design.
• Experience in embedded software development a plus.
• Experience with Elastic Enterprise Search a plus.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and work in an interrupt-driven environment; be quality-driven, thorough, and communicative.

  Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• 5-10 years total as Systems Architect
• Bachelor’s degree desired
• Demonstrated success in defining the architecture of computerized/information systems (i.e., systems are composed of software and hardware) in order to fulfill specific mission requirements.
• Includes the breakdown of the system into components, and the component interactions and interfaces (within the intended environment, especially the user), also includes the technologies and resources to be used throughout the design and implementation phases.
