    This program provides Information Technology Support Services II (ITSS II) at the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) at Kennedy Space Center. This project will support the NASA Security Operations Center (SOC)

    Job Description: Seeking a network engineer with demonstratable experience who can immediately have a positive impact on this team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable designing, implementing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and security infrastructure solutions in an enterprise production environment. The candidate will be a mentor and peer, leading aspects of network infrastructure projects, collaborating with other team members, and ensuring the exemplary delivery of network infrastructure services to our customers with a sense of ownership, purpose, and pride. Candidates for this position must have the experience, technical skills, personality, demeanor, and interpersonal skills required to meet the technical challenges of this role and the exceptional customer service expectations of this team.

    Duties/Responsibilities: Specific position responsibilities and requirements include:

    • Design, implement, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network and security operations infrastructure.
    • Create and maintain network and security operations infrastructure process, procedure, technical design, and system documentation.
    • Rapidly develop a working knowledge of the supported network and security operations infrastructure environment.
    • Understand and embrace the technical goals, objectives, and direction of leadership.
    • Actively participate in the planning and designs to transform the current environment to best achieve those technical goals and objectives.
    • Demonstrate standardized excellence in service delivery with the flexibility to deftly adjust to emergent conditions.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, enhancement, and efficiency.
    • Lead when appropriate, follow when needed, help when asked, and always participate in the most effective manner for the achievement of team goals.

      Specific position technical requirements include:

    • Minimum five years of experience with Network Infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, packet brokers, SPAN Taps, Port Taps, VLANs, VPNs, Access) routine maintenance and administration.
    • Minimum five years of experience with Network Infrastructure configuration, security, implementation, and troubleshooting.
    • Minimum five years of experience with Network Infrastructure project planning and design.
    • Minimum three years of experience with specific support of Juniper hardware (SRX, QFX, EX platforms) and Juniper tools (NSM, Space); Preferred certification of JNCIP-ENT or higher.
    • Preferred experience with designing, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Pulse Secure hardware (PSA) and Pulse Secure Software (Connect, Policy), Cisco FirePower IDS, FireEye Appliances, and VMWare Virtualization.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years total as Systems Architect; Bachelor’s degree desired
