Animal Care & Control position: 4 days/wk, 8-6pm includes weekends, plus 2 on call nights/wk for animal emergencies. Must be 21 yrs. +, have a clean driver’s license and background and live within 20 minutes of the shelter. Must love animals, be a team player, able to multi task, lift 50 lbs., have legible handwriting and have a friendly, outgoing personality for assisting volunteers and visitors. Job includes providing daily care for shelter animals (cleaning, feeding, medicating, exercising, socializing, training), answering phones, handling dog complaints, court appearances, conducting ongoing dog license census, picking up stray dogs, rescuing animals in distress. Humane animal handling skills and positive customer service skills including promoting adoptions wanted, and will train. Paid vacation/personal days after one year. We are looking to add permanent staff members to our "family" of animal caregivers.
