Job Description
The Washington Football Team is seeking to hire a skilled solutions developer, with a passion for football, to help with the design and development of our current mobile and web applications for the football operations department. This role will be a key member of the solutions development team and will design and develop solutions that are part of the broader development roadmap.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Build and maintain systems that promote the use and understanding of analytical football data and information throughout Football Operations.
- Collecting, processing, storing, and integrating many sources of football data, as well as designing and building new data solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Collaborate with football solutions development team to design and develop custom mobile and web applications.
- Communicate with users across the football operations department to gather system requirements.
- Building software applications by writing code, as well as modifying software to enhance performance, upgrade interfaces, and fix errors.
- Responsible for the development, design and implementation of new or modified software products for ongoing football initiatives in partnership with solutions development team.
- Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications.
- Directing system testing and validation procedures, and also working with football operations department on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
- Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years experience developing mobile and web applications in a fast paced environment.
- Experience building, testing, and implementing custom applications.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- ASP .NET Core experience is required.
- Exposure to MS LINQ to SQL and Entity Framework.
- Experience with client-side technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery or other JS Frameworks.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, including creating complex queries.
- Experience with DevExpress toolset, especially ASP .NET and jQuery controls is a huge plus.
- Exposure to HTML and CSS (HTML 5 a plus).
- Experience consuming REST APIs using HTTP and JSON.
- Knowledge of Web API is a plus.
- Knowledge of Azure/AWS Cloud Services is a plus.
- Familiarity with source control.
