Market Development Representative
Job Description
SUMMARY
The Market Development Representative (MDR) will prospect and qualify new digital sign opportunities in a strategic market through a combination of face-to-face meetings, on-site demonstrations, and phone and email prospecting. Prospecting methods will depend on the state of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, so the MDR will need to be agile in response to the ever-changing business climate. In addition to prospecting, the MDR will collaborate frequently with the overlapping Territory Manager on demos and development for projects the MDR did not source.
The MDR will report to the Business Development Manager. They will also receive guidance from the overlapping Territory Manager, and should maintain at least weekly correspondence with the TM.
WHEN COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS ARE IN PLACE IN THEIR MARKET:
The MDR will spend most of their time phone and email prospecting in their market. This will go hand-in-hand with researching new prospects for outreach, either through the internet, or by driving into the territory without conducting meetings and demos.
WHEN COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED OR REDUCED IN THEIR MARKET:
The Market Development Rep will spend most of their time out in their market meeting with end user prospects, but the position will not require significant overnight travel outside of occasional trips to Watchfire’s home office, annual sales meeting, and occasional industry events.
Watchfire will provide a company vehicle for travel and demos within their market.
It is important for the Market Development Rep to reside within, or in close proximity to, their strategic market.
