Summary
Support management and training development staff with data processing and administrative tasks, creating and maintaining training schedules and training records, and other tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Training Facilitator in preparing employees for job related training.
- The Training and Development Intern would be expected to handle a variety of clerical tasks from answering phone calls, addressing employee questions/concerns, and responding to emails.
- Responsible for clerical and administrative duties related to training and organizational development.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of employee training and certifications.
- Providing general admin assistance and support for the training facilitator and trainers.
- Obtaining training records / certificates of training or qualifications achieved from all employees’ personnel files and / or training software.
- Recording all staff’s training attendance.
- The Training and Development Intern would also be expected to offer value-added input to the continuous improvement of the program.
- Assist in researching training events under the direction of the Training Facilitator and Management.
- Assisting with the scheduling of training sessions including notifying all relevant parties.
- The Training and Development Intern must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Maintain technical knowledge of databases and other record keeping systems.
- The Training Intern will be expected to perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Able to read, write and comprehend instructions.
- Able to effectively present information in one on one and group situations with all levels of employees.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with employees in affected departments/areas.
- Proficient in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
- Able to teach others how to do something.
- Proven skills in Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Experience with LMS systems or SharePoint would be helpful.
Required Education and Licensing
Pursuing an AA/AAS/AS degree in Training and Development, Safety, Business, or another related field.
Must have been enrolled full-time for the current semester, new graduates are still eligible for this position
