    Our client—a respected, employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firm—is seeking an experienced Water Resource or Civil Engineer to help lead and grow their Iowa-based operations. With an established regional presence and a strong portfolio of interdisciplinary work, this firm is looking for a driven engineering professional to shape the future of resilient water and site design in the Midwest.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage a variety of water resource and civil engineering projects—from concept to completion.

    • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff while supporting team development.

    • Foster local project delivery and regional growth in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

    • Build and maintain client relationships and play a key role in business development efforts.

    • Support planning and design projects focused on sustainable water management and ecological resilience.

    • Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality control to ensure successful outcomes.

    • Represent the firm in Iowa and contribute to expanding its footprint in the regional consulting market.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field

    • 5+ years of relevant water resources and/or civil engineering experience

    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Iowa or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months

    • Proven project management experience with a range of project types and complexities

    • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to lead independently and work effectively with remote teams across multiple locations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with the Iowa A&E consulting market and client base

    • Experience with public presentations, client development, and stakeholder engagement

    • Proficiency in green infrastructure design and implementation

    • Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including SWMM

    • Prior experience in office or personnel management

    • Budgeting, forecasting, and business operations knowledge

    Location & Work Environment:

    • Office Location: Boone, IA (Hybrid schedule available)

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Salary Range: $80,000 – $115,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

    • Bonus Opportunity: Annual performance-based bonus tied to company profitability
