• Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests.
Role Specific Responsibilities
• Assist the dentists in providing treatment/services to the patients within the scope of the guidelines set by the clinic, the dentist and your ability, knowledge and experience; including but not limited to chair-side assisting, taking and processing radiographs, patient education and documentation (EHR) as needed.
• Assist the dental team with the day-to-day operations of the clinic; including but not limited to: infection control procedures, sterilization of instruments, confirmation of patient education, and documentation in the EHR as needed.
• Provide routine maintenance of dental equipment, STATIM, autoclave, traps, cleaning of Ops, clinic, and laundry.
• Provide spiritual care to patients.
• Responsible for inventory and ordering of dental equipment and supplies in coordination with the dentist and Dental Office Coordinator.
• Training of the sterilization technician or dental hygienist in the use, maintenance, and care of the sterilizing machines and the clinic equipment.
• Organizing and overseeing laboratory patient cases.
• Assisting in filling out Gift in Kind forms for donations.
• Participate with the team in the active recruitment and on-going engagement of volunteer service providers, including scheduling, recruitment strategy development/implementation, communication, office visits, and speaking at public events.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the dentist or required to assure the smooth functioning of the dental clinic.
Education and Experience: Graduate of a Dental Assistant Program and/or an experienced dental assistant currently practicing in a dental office with an active radiology license required. Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
