This position works in our Water Treatment Department. Standard schedule includes rotating 12-hour shifts working 3 or 4 days per week. Shifts rotate between nights and days every 28 days.

Our Water Treatment Operator o **perates and controls treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for appropriate discharge under plant policies and regulations.
** Primary Duties
Responsible for operation of the wells and the freshwater treatment systems
Analysis and control of boiler water and cooling tower water systems
Operation of the wastewater neutralization, settling, treatment and separation systems including sampling and analysis of final effluent
Operation of the centrifuge and land application via large tractor with spreader of excess biological sludge
Monitoring inventory levels and initiating reorder of various treatment chemicals and other power waste materials
Receiving deliveries of Raw Materials used in the Power area
Monitor site integrity and security in outlying areas and other duties as required
Unloading of Raw Materials in Tank Farm area via railcar and truck
Manage DOT gas pipeline for the plant
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
Previous experience in Wastewater Treatment and/or Kansas Wastewater Operator Certification preferred
Ability to work independently without continuous supervision
Excellent communication skills
Good Troubleshooting skills and the ability to think independently
Mechanical ability to understand complex equipment and perform simple maintenance tasks
Computer Skills – Experience in use and data entry in Spreadsheets, MS Outlook, and use of the Internet
Ability to drive a Manual gear shift vehicle as well as back up a large trailer
Ability to interpret and understand policies, procedures, electrical schematics and relate them to others
Demonstrated focus on safety and quality
Take and pass DOT drug testing requirements
Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
