The firm principals have been involved in designing groundwater supply plants and wastewater treatment plants for over 50 years and in a quasi-design/build relationship for the last 20 years. THE POSITION: Summary: This position is responsible for the complete physical layout, civil/process analysis, and detailed design of water and wastewater plant systems. Assignments will include the coordination and development of calculations, construction drawings, contracts, technical specifications, design standards as well as the implementation of those designs for the construction of these facilities. This is a "hands on" position that integrates the experience of design, construction and operation of water supply and wastewater treatment systems to provide a complete engineering experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform and coordinate civil/process engineering analyses and detailed design for Water Plants and WasteWater Treatment Plants. - Establish civil/structural design requirements for Water and WasteWater Systems. - Coordinate and conduct design review meetings for projects assigned. - Calculations to AISC and ACI Codes. - Evaluate and define appropriate civil engineering solutions for a wide variety of projects. - Develop, communicate, and coordinate project scope, budget, and schedules. - Develop and coordinate drawing packages for bidding, construction, and record purposes. - Lead construction activities with technical support, creative solutions, and timely review of monthly billing and/or change order requests. - Develop and coordinate construction contracts, mater/design standards, and technical specifications. - Interface with clients, vendors, contractors and regulatory agencies. - Prepare permit applications and coordination of third-party stakeholders. - Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design drawings. - Prepare technical documentations, schedules, and cost estimates. - Develop layouts and designs. - Prepare plans and specifications. - Review construction submittals such as shop drawings, and Contractor Requests for Information.
