Waterside Staffing Accounting and Finance is seeking a skilled and qualified Accounting Manager – REIT, in the Tampa Bay area. Our client is a fast growing and nationally recognized Real Estate Investment Trust with offices in Tampa Bay. This is a newly created position due to rapid portfolio growth. This position requires experience managing financial reporting schedules, fund accounting and analytics (REIT or Private Equity exposure), investor liaison experience, and valuations.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with other highly skilled accounting professionals in a complex and professional corporate setting. Our client is in a fast-growing industry, with high visibility, and offers an excellent corporate culture.

This position would be excellent for a experienced Senior Accountant or light manager with 4-6 years of relevant exposure to fund accounting and analysis, investor reporting, and some investor liaison experience. This role is incredibly dynamic, and offers full scope finance and accounting exposure, as well as client facing engagement opportunities.

Accounting Manager – REIT Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the general ledger and cyclical closing duties for various fund entities
• Preparing supporting work papers for financial statements, portfolio schedules and equity/investor account allocations
• Analysis of fund performance and periodic dashboard reporting
• Preparing financial statements/packages and footnote disclosures
• Analytical review of monthly/quarterly investment and fund performance data
• Preparing, manage, and drive various client correspondences and investor inquires
• Calculating waterfalls and fund allocations
• Liaison to external tax and audit vendor
• Special projects as requested

Accounting Manager – REIT Requirements:

• BS in Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred
• 5+ relevant years of experience, including Real Estate or Private Equity
• A comprehensive understanding of distributions and waterfalls
• Current and relevant financial reporting experience
• Comfortable in a fast-paced complex accounting environment
• Ability to communicate with internal and external business partners
• People skills are important. This person must be confident, trustworthy, and dependable

Accounting Manager – REIT Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary base up to $100K
• Bonus at 20%, paid quarterly
