    Electronics Technician

    Wavetronix, the global leader in radar based vehicle detection technologies, is seeking a full-time Electronics Technician. He or she will be an active member of our Technician Team, responsible for performing the required repairs, collaborating with engineering on projects, and improving product quality. The right individual for this role will be able to interact with employees in a positive and proactive way.

    This Electronics Technician position plays an important part in ensuring company products are repaired and tested to industry standards. The person chosen for the position will positively contribute as a team member in a high functioning team environment. He or she will also work closely with other teams, providing guidance and direction in test process optimization and troubleshooting. He or she will be expected to provide ongoing contributions to continuous improvement measures.

    A successful Electronics Technician will accomplish the following:

    3-Month

    • Demonstrate working knowledge of core products
    • Show ability to troubleshoot and repair core product lines independently
    • Exhibit proficiency in navigating software tools to diagnose defects and document repairs
    • Participate in training and development programs as directed
    • Contribute to a proactive and successful team environment
    • Exhibit proficiency in usage of Arena Solutions (ECO/ECR, Alternate Comp., BoM lookup, etc.)
    • Exhibit proficiency in usage of SHADOW (in house manufacturing software)

    6-Month

    • Independently road test all products
    • Clearly explain the production flow and RMA process
    • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and optimize product test equipment
    • Independently work with Engineering to support the development and completion of various projects (e.g. troubleshoot prototypes, thermal eval's, prototype assy, DVT, etc.)
    • Complete MATLAB introduction training
    • Contribute to the creation of, updating and control of technician documentation

    Beyond year 1

    • Obtain IPC-610 certification
    • Obtain IPC J-STD-001
    • Clearly explain the ECO/ECR process and demonstrate ability to facilitate
    • Clearly explain the process for Engineering to Production product release
    • Regular project interaction with Engineering team with solid working relationship

    Desired Experience and Competencies

    • Proficient in SMT hand soldering and repair (proficiency verified during interview)
    • Ability to read schematics
    • Experience in troubleshooting circuit boards
    • Self-starter, detail oriented, and able to fully document projects (where applicable)
    • Functional knowledge of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other troubleshooting tools
    • Ability to remain focused when faced with prolonged repetitive tasks
    • Strong knowledge of electronics theory
    • Quality minded (LEAN Manuf., 8Ds, 5S, etc.)
    • Ability to communicate clearly with team members
    • Bonus Attributes/Skills
    • Altium experience or equivalent PCB layout software
    • Basic Programming experience (C, C++, JAVA, etc.)
