ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST
Wavetronix is looking for a highly motivated and teachable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. The Accounts Payable Specialist position is a fundamental part of the accounting department. Primary responsibilities will be recording invoices, processing corporate card expense reports, helping with general accounting duties related to the month end close, and other ad hoc projects as necessary.
This position works directly under the Senior Accountant and will work with the other accounting team members and is a touch point for all departments of the company.
A SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST WILL ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING:
WITHIN 30 DAYS:
WITHIN 90 DAYS:
Record invoices, which include PO matching, with the correct GL codes and approvals
Assist in processing weekly check runs and EFT's taking early payment discounts
Review and process monthly corporate card expense reports and employee reimbursements
Assist in gathering VAT tax and Use tax for quarterly filings
Work to resolve any invoice/payment issues
Maintain the digital filing cabinet of all supplier invoices
Begin mentoring with the Senior Accountant on month end responsibilities
WITHIN 1 YEAR:
Train new employees on the expense report process
Backup on weekly check runs and EFTs
Backup on quarterly Use tax and VAT filings
Assist with the month end close
Complete ad hoc projects as given by Senior Accountant and/or Accounting Manager
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Minimum of one to two years of progressive accounting experience or equivalent schooling
Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus but not required
Experience with credit cards and/or expense reports a plus but not required
Must be teachable and willing to get involved
