Fielding Manufacturing - QA Inspector (All Shifts)
POSITION SUMMARY
The QA Inspector is responsible to inspect manufactured parts at all stages of production to ensure
product is manufactured to internal specifications and customer requirements. The QA inspector
follows Quality Assurance Plans (QAP's) to audit parts being produced in production departments and
complete AQL lot inspections between manufacturing steps. Inspections are dependent on using basic
metrology techniques and tools, as well as following standard workmanship standards for visual
criteria. The QA Inspector follows all ISO 9001 Procedures and Work Instructions to perform
inspections and properly document results. The QA Inspector identifies non-conforming product and
initiate NCR's for MRB disposition. The QA Inspector performs sorts and rework operations on non-
conforming product, as assigned by production management.
Essential duties include:
Select random sample of product/material based on random sampling techniques and AQL
sampling plan
Perform AQL Lot Inspections of manufactured product, incoming product from outsourced
operations, incoming purchased material/components, or any other material with controlled
specifications
Record and document all inspections appropriately (ie. job inspection records/log, NCR's, work
orders, etc.)
Perform in-process inspections according to QAP; audit all jobs, all production departments
Support production department Operators and/or Technicians to inspect first articles to ensure
jobs meet QAP specifications at start-up
Assist production departments to investigate the root cause of and help resolve any quality
concerns/issues
Assist training and clarification of QAP's and measurement tools/techniques for production
Operators
Perform sort and/or rework of non-conforming product/materials (NCR's), supporting VA
Operators who also may be assigned to NCR sorts/reworks
Re-inspect NCR sort/rework lots to AQL inspection standards to validate effective sort/rework
operations
Assist in maintaining QA gage calibration system; complete simple calibrations as directed
Maintain department files including storage of historical sample retains
