Job Description
The Network Architect role will provide technical expertise and leadership for the design and implementation of the company's domestic IP network, including wide-area networks, datacenter networks and campus/corporate networks. This position is responsible for designing, documenting and working closely with engineering to deliver the highest quality network for our customers.
Job Scope:
- You will provide technical leadership and expertise across LAN/WAN/DC networking. S/He will develop and execute architecture standards in delivering internet connectivity to our subscriber base. You'll have responsibility and accountability across multiple areas including:
- Working with internal business units in the development of the design, architecture, platforms, and technologies of the IP Network.
- Document the design and implementation standards that will be utilized by the Network Engineering and Operations group.
- Assists in the deployment of core infrastructure related to the IP network.
- Serves as a point of escalation for technical issues relating to the OSP/ISP providing the highest tier technical support for the Transit Wireless Operations organization.
Qualifications:
You should be a network architect/engineer with strong leadership and background in designing, building, and operating large IP networks.
The follow qualifications are required for the role:
- Experience with large IP Network design
- Experience in driving and leading architecture and design transformations through technology transitions
- Design and implementation experience with IPv6 networks
- Experience with overlay and tunneling protocols such as L2TP and VXLAN
- Routing experience – BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, SRv6
- Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) design and implementation experience
- Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) design and implementation experience
- Multiple Vendor Experience – A10, Cisco, Juniper, etc
Education & Experience
- Network Architecture & Engineering work experience 5+ years
- Preferred Professional/Expert level certification(s) from vendors such as Juniper and Cisco
