We're currently looking for a motivated Junior Web Developer to join our dynamic development team. Work location is in the DS2 office in Niceville, FL.

    Qualified candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, possess an active DoD Secret clearance and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance in order to perform this work. Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful award of the associated contract, anticipated to begin in August, 2025.

    Our team supports the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) in its mission to provide a mechanism for inter-service efforts to improve the databases and analytical methodologies the Joint force uses to determine non-nuclear weapons effectiveness. JWS is a key component of this mission, as it is designed to support U.S. and allied military planners in selecting the most effective munitions and delivery tactics to achieve specific target effects. Its primary purpose is to provide a standardized, scientifically-based tool for weaponeering — the process of matching weapons to targets to produce a desired level of damage or effect.

    The successful candidate will be an adaptable, agile engineer who is a consummate team player capable of researching, analyzing, and engineering solutions to meet customer demand for flight testing tools and software. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess effective communication skills, and have experience with performance prediction, test planning, and test execution.

    Responsibilities — What you'll do:

    • Design, build, and maintain websites and web applications using programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular. Ensure websites are responsive, user-friendly, and optimized for performance across various devices and browsers. Collaborate with JWS designers, engineers, and backend developers to integrate functionality and enhance user experience.
    • Build systems from the ground up using React.js, Angular, Docker, Microservices and other cutting-edge technologies
    • Build clean, scalable, and responsive Web applications, specifically SPAs and PWAs, with a focus on maintainable and reusable components that perform well on multiple browsers and a variety of form factors
    • Be a part of an agile team that works together to organize, manage, and complete their work on products
    • Play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating applications
    • Work with your team to test, develop, peer review, and continuously integrate changes into the code base
    • Conduct research for, report on, and create proof-of-concepts and prototypes for R&D projects
    • Learn emerging technologies and programming tools to keep you and your team as well equipped as possible

    Qualifications — We need someone who:

    • ****Has 0-3 years of development experience

    • Has a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field

    • Actively programs with one or more of the following languages: JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, C#, or Java

    • Has proven experience developing web applications using front end frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux, Vue.js, Angular, and/or jQuery

    • Has experience developing RESTful APIs

    • Is able to engage with teammates, both virtually and face-to-face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients

    • Manages time well and can prioritize tasks to ensure projects are completed on time

    • Is a U.S. Citizen

    • **** Has an active DoD Secret clearance. A Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment

    Preferred — It's even better if you:

    • Have a good understanding of CSS and CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
    • Have AWS Cloud development experience
    • Have system admin skills in Linux
    • Are able to build robust, scalable, event-driven, backends that are service-based or structures such as microservices using containerization
    • Are proficient with source control software like Git or Bitbucket as well as package and artifact management tools like ProGet, npm/yarn, and JFrog
    • Have used Software Development Lifecycle tool suites like Azure DevOps and Atlassian
    • Have examples of code we can check out, like GitHub or SourceForge repositories, any applications you've built, pet projects, or submissions to hackathons and/or game jams
    • Have a passion for learning new technologies, other coding languages, or different programming paradigms and patterns
    • Received one or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications or any other technical certifications
