DM-Companies is currently looking for a PHP Engineer to participate in a 6 month internship opportunit. We are looking for innovative candidates who love the internet and want to contribute to web sites seen by millions of visitors each month. You will work apart of our smart and talented technical team based in our New York office. This position will allow you to develop your coding skills, work in a cross functional agile environment so you can gain exposure to the best practices of development within a commercial environment.

This role will provide you with brilliant mentors to aid your learning and development, all of whom have a wealth of experience helping the business to innovate and grow. The contribution of the tech team is a core part of our digital business, to help us build useful, scalable and quality products. As an intern at DM-Companies you will work directly with international development teams on high traffic consumer facing websites.

Objective of the role:

• Add a fresh perspective to the existing teams
• Provide extra resource to the teams to engage in research and development
• Work on tech back logs
• Learn agile best practices
• Exposure to TDD/BDD and unit testing
• Practice your coding skills whilst working on bug fixes
• Design and code new features and enhancements.
• Assist with all aspects of the product lifecycle, from specifications to development through QA.
• Collaborate on development and finding/fixing bugs.

Interns do not need to have all of the qualifications or experience listed below, but a willingness to learn is essential. The Ideal intern will have the following traits:

• Command of the PHP language
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• You focus on goals and have a desire to succeed
• Work well with stakeholders
