Weekend Cook – The Gardenias Are you a culinary enthusiast who enjoys bringing a little extra joy to someone’s day through a great meal? We are looking for a reliable, compassionate Weekend Cook to join our team at The Gardenias, a cozy assisted living community. In this role, you aren’t just "making food"—you’re creating a "home" atmosphere for our residents. If you enjoy a smaller, more personal kitchen environment and want to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to meet you. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and Serve: Cook flavorful, nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to established menus and dietary requirements.

Dietary Adherence: Follow specific recipes and texture modifications (e.g., mechanical soft, pureed) to ensure the safety and health of all residents.

Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace in compliance with health department standards.

Resident Interaction: Provide friendly service and accommodate reasonable individual preferences when possible.

Safety First: Handle all equipment and food storage (labeling, dating, temperature logs) with strict adherence to safety protocols.

Schedule & Shift

Status: Part-Time (Weekends)

Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Hours are flexible)

What We’re Looking For

Experience: At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare, CBRF, or high-volume residential setting.

Certification: Current Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain one).

Reliability: Since this is a weekend-specific role, punctuality and consistent attendance are essential.

Heart: A patient, respectful attitude toward seniors and a commitment to high-quality service.
