Pharmacy Floor Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Schedule:
Every Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Three (3) weekdays: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flex schedule)
Overtime and holidays may be required based on business needs
$19-$22/Hour

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Floor Technician is responsible for picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This role supports pharmacy operations by ensuring medications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent placement based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist
Pick/pull medications from shelving and other storage areas, including prepack racks
Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy verification
Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that does not scan properly
Assist in processing returned medications and recycle/dispose of drugs per established procedures
Prepack frequently ordered medications during low-volume periods; label and store appropriately
Manually package materials and products as needed
Maintain clean and organized workstation areas
Replenish stock and supplies as needed
Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
Comply with departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work at a moderate, consistent pace in a production-focused environment
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must possess and maintain a clear and active license (not required in New York State)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pharmacy technician experience
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the shift
May sit or stand for 7–10 hours per day
May be required to work extended hours as needed
Finger dexterity required to operate equipment and handle medications
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Visual acuity required to read fine print, including close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to hear normal voice sounds
