Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Weighmaster to perform clerical, recordkeeping, and cash-handling duties at waste management facilities. This role is responsible for weighing vehicles, calculating fees, processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting customers.
The Weighmaster ensures compliance with operational procedures, environmental standards, and safety requirements while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate demonstrates accuracy, accountability, and professionalism in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing recordkeeping, cashier, or clerical duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience operating computer-based scale or point-of-sale systems
- Experience calculating fees, processing transactions, issuing receipts, and reconciling payments
- Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accountability in financial records
- Experience interacting with the public and providing customer service
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to resolve customer inquiries effectively
- Ability to follow safety and operational procedures accurately
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
Experience Preferences
- Experience in waste management, recycling, or environmental operations
- Experience monitoring and assisting unattended transaction terminals
- Familiarity with assessing penalties for procedural violations or special waste handling
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors and at vehicle scales for extended periods
- Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift items (up to 20 pounds)
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions
- Ability to operate computer and payment systems for extended periods
- Minimal physical exertion beyond routine lifting and mobility
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Additional coursework or training in customer service, environmental services, or clerical operations
- Training in point-of-sale, recordkeeping, or operational safety procedures
