    Job Description

     

    LITIGATION PARALEGAL / ADMINISTRATOR  

     

    Business and IP law firm focusing on entertainment, sports, finance, fashion, cannabis and other vibrant industries is seeking a driven and diligent paralegal with business litigation experience. This person must be organized, detail oriented, hard-working, enthusiastic, team oriented, and interested in joining a growing law firm and helping to build foundations for growth and expansion. Person will also assist in management and support for business transactional practice.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2-4 years Civil Litigation Paralegal experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 or above (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe).
    • Up to date litigation skills with knowledge of current State and Federal Court rules of civil procedure, must be proficient in litigation calendaring rules including trial and have knowledge of document filing requirements.
    • Proficient in state and federal court filings, service of process and 3rd party discovery.  
    • Drafting of discovery, motions, settlement agreements, document and evidence handling, trial prep.
    • Preparation of documents for production including redacting confidential information and Bate-stamp. Preparation of privilege logs, and responsive shells (with objections) and verifications for discovery requests.
    • Organization of documents, chronological order and preparation of working binders for use in case development. Review electronic documents and organize for use. Prepare summaries of same for attorney review. Proof and quality control of briefs and exhibits.
    • Trial / Arbitration / Mediation / Deposition Prep- Prepare Exhibit and Witness lists, prepare exhibit notebooks and witness folders/notebooks; prepare On-Call letters and subpoenas; assist attorneys at trial. Prepare binder containing all relevant documents including Complaint, status letters, briefs, research, background information and discovery responses.
    • Prepare and maintain documents and create working binders. Maintain virtual library in eDocs with emphasis on document scanning and proper labeling in eDocs for easy identification and retrieval. Review files for exhibits and preparation of exhibits for appendixes, declarations, motions, and pleadings for trial.
    • Perform legal research, background checks, pull cases, shepherd cases and perform cite checking of briefs to ensure citing accuracy. Research registered agents and obtain corporation and asset information. Perform litigation searches on witnesses and experts.
    • Perform online research regarding backgrounds of parties and deponents, and preparation of exhibits for use in deposition preparation.
    • Maintenance and management of corporate entities filings and compliance.
    • Maintenance and management of trademark and copyright filings and deadlines.

     

    Salary range for Paralegal Position: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year; Salary dependent on experience. Medical benefits. Annual bonus based on performance.

     

    JOB TYPE: Full-time, permanent position to work on-site in the office during regular business hours with the ability to work remotely should the occasion require doing so. Position will commence on-site full-time once regulations permit, and parties to discuss potential remote work options upon commencement.
