JOB SUMMARY  

Proactively facilitate communication between dealers, customers and Weiss McNair by building relationships and providing hands-on product support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   

• WORK WITH OUR DEALERS AND THEIR SALESMEN TO:

1. Maintain customer contact
2. Establish new customers
3. Assist with sales
4. Assist with sales to ensure proper equipment selection is made for the customer’s application
5. Demonstrations; set up, schedule delivery, or personally deliver, equipment for demo
6. Instruct existing and new customers in proper set up, operation and maintenance of Weiss McNair equipment
7. Provide product support

• WORK WITH OUR DEALERS’ PARTS DEPARTMENTS TO:

1. Maintain a parts inventory for Weiss McNair equipment in the area
2. Advise of new requirements
3. Assist with information about parts usage

• WORK WITH OUR DEALERS’ SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO:

1. Survey equipment for repairs
2. Report repair issues to Weiss McNair Service or Engineering Department
3. Survey customer’s equipment for required repairs done by the customer or Weiss McNair Service Department
4. Ability to be proactive and highly self-motivated to seek out and identify new sales opportunities
5. Attend trade shows and industry related events
6. Maintain a Class A license and knowledge of applicable regulations and requirements
7. Be available to travel to international dealers to assist them and their customers

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works relatively independently with guidance and supervision from superior manager. Assignments given in the form of goals/objectives. Work reviewed by manager for soundness of judgment, overall completeness and accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and to sit in performing computer functions. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and/or hazardous chemicals.   Field conditions can be seasonally hot or cold and dusty. 

Job duties are performed in the field, covering a specified sales territory. Noise level is usually moderate to loud, based on specific activities.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with other departments (including but not limited to) parts sales, service, manufacturing, engineering and accounting
• Travel to customers and industry locations is required, both domestic and international
• Available to be away from “home base” for more than a week at a time

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Strong mechanical aptitude required
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
• Strong organizational skills required
• Awareness of time constraints, urgency, and on-time performance of all duties required
• Agricultural background preferred
• Class A drivers’ license required
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook required
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat required

OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Industry experience
• Experience with, and knowledge of,  Weiss McNair equipment

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

• Work performed in designated areas require appropriate safety precautions and protective equipment such as eye and hearing protection.
