    PPS is seeking an experienced and talented Welder Level III to join our state-of-the-art semiconductor industry fabrication facility in Phoenix, AZ!

    The Welder III will be responsible for MIG and TIG welding on a diverse array of products and held to tight tolerances on large and small weldments per AWS codes and symbols. This includes the layout, fit/tack, and fabrication of weldment having multiple details is a welded sequence using welding fixtures and jigs where applicable. Materials include various grades of steel: tube and sheet, stainless steel: tube and sheet, sheet metal, and aluminum: tube and sheet.

    You will be required to pass a MIG and TIG weld test as part of interview!!

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and, material requirements.
    • Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
    • Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment.
    • Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
    • Performs advanced welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision.
    • Interprets complex blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and written work instructions, as well as reads and interprets AWS welding symbols.
    • Sets up welding equipment in accordance with the appropriate weld process specifications (WPS).
    • Completes weldments to the applied AWS welding code and blueprint requirements.
    • Positions weldment details in location using fixtures, jigs, tape measure, square, rule, and caliper to meet blueprint, manufacturing drawings, and quality requirements.
    • Utilizes material handling equipment in conjunction with the welding task.
    • Performs minor maintenance on job-related equipment.
    • Assumes responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment.
    • Observes and practices safety procedures and policies.
    • Attendance is an essential job function

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Understanding of the use of measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, tapes etc.
    • Qualified to read blue prints.
    • Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
    • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
    • Subject completed welding tasks to appropriate inspections.
    • Strong understanding of TIG/MIG welding procedures & processes.
    • Must have experience working with steel, aluminum and stainless steel.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols.
    • Ability to perform welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test.
    • Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, rules and dial calipers).
    • Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations.
    • Knowledge of welding machines and set up.
    • Ability to operate hand/air tools and electric grinders.

    Educational/Experience Requirement:

    • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
    • Two year vocational welding program or equivalent experience.
    • 7+ years of experience in welding.

    Physical Demands:

    • Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move object.
    • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, push, pull, grasp.
    • Must comply with Jager-2 Vision test compliance.
    • Prolonged standing and bending intermittently during work hours.
    • Ability to move arms, hands and fingers to type.
    • Close vision required.
