    Title: Welder Jr

    Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, M-F

    Salary: $20 - 24/hr

    Welder Jr Role:

    The Welder Jr performs intermediate welding tasks, including preparing, assembling, and joining metal parts. This role ensures the high-quality and safe fabrication of metal structures by consistently and accurately applying various welding techniques under the guidance of senior welders.

    Welder Jr Responsibilities:

    • Perform intermediate welding operations and steel mill rework/fabrication for mast arms
    • Design, cut, and permanently join copper and/or aluminum parts using appropriate welding techniques, high-heat equipment, and welding processes such as MIG, TIG, laminate, electric arc welding, and silver solder
    • Read production instructions, processes, and procedures, including interpreting and translating engineering designs and documentation
    • Maintain and repair welding equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and adhering to safety protocols
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, wearing appropriate protective gear and ensuring a safe working environment
    • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards, making necessary adjustments or repairs

    Welder Jr Reporting Relationships:

    The candidate will report to the Welding Supervisor and will not have any direct reports.

    About You:

    • Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions and work effectively in a team environment
    • Demonstrate proficiency in various welding techniques and blueprint/welding symbols, including qualifying for pipe welding
    • Successfully pass the Aluminum Coupon Test
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues
    • Possess good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
    • High school diploma, GED, or vocational school with certification in welding preferred
    • One to three years of welding experience preferred
    • Tow motor and crane/rigging experience preferred

    • This role operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations
    • Employees may frequently be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

    • Walking and standing on the Plant floor is required
